Call to Worship

Leader: Rushing wind of the Creator, breathe into us!

All: Blazing flame of the Spirit, burn away our fears!

Leader: Comforting presence of Jesus, heal our wounds

All: Let us be prepared to worship and praise you, O God.

Leader: Come and fill us with your love. Guide us as we proclaim God’s good news in all that we do. AMEN.

Unison Prayer :

God of Glory and Majesty, we have seen your glory in Christ, may it shine in our lives. In faith, Jesus walked this earth and now we to walk in faith too. In seeing Christ we have seen you. Remind us that the world can see you through us. Our lives are not for our own glory, but are for you. Remind us as we move through each day that all around us are your children, who are desperately searching for a glimpse of your holy presence and love. May the world see your character in us today. In the name of Christ Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

Children Message

Scripture reading    Acts 1:6-14; Psalm 68:1-10, 32-35 (UMH 792) 1 Peter 4:12-14; 5:6-11; John 17:1-11

Memorial Day prayer:    Please pray with me a Prayer for the country and those who have given their lives for our nation.

Great God, we give you thanks for the Life you have given us, for the place we live, for the freedom we have. On this weekend, we celebrate, as one nation, the lives of the courageous people who have laid their lives down for our freedom. For us, as Christians, their sacrifice reminds us of the sacrifice of Christ Jesus, who selflessly gave his life for our freedom from sin. This Memorial Day, we pray that God would bless the families and friends of the fallen troops. Your grace is with them, your love covers them, and may your peace be with us all. Amen

Benediction/Sending Forth

Go forth in peace. Bring hope to this world. Go forth in love; bring joy to this world. Go forth in knowledge and truth. May the spirit lead you always AMEN.
